Crochet 101

Drop in at The Textile Academy to learn all the basics of crochet and make your own granny square hood!

What is this?

You wanna crochet? Then drop in on our course that'll have you become a confident beginner by the end with your very own completed project! We will be making granny square balaclavas, so you will be learning a lot!

What you'll get:

1 drop in class, 3 hrs of expert guidance and hands-on learning. We are in no rush! Let's take our time to ensure you learn at your own pace.

You'll get to keep all your crochet material (hook, yarn, stitch markers, yarn needle, workshop guide + new friends!)

These basic skills will take you anywhere, you'll learn how to hold your hook and manipulate yarn, create slip knots and all the basic crochet stitches (single & double crochet). Additionally, we'll learn how to make a magic loop, change yarn colours, make granny squares, and learn how to pull everything together. All this and some more tips and tricks along the way.

We will have some light snacks and drinks available in a cosy studio with a graduation party to wrap it all up.
