I don’t have a machine but I’m curious about Cricut crafting. Can I still participate?

Yes. I have several extra machines.

Question 2

I have an older model of Cricut that uses cartridges . Can I use it?

Accepted Answer

No, if it only uses cartridges. The class will focus on models of the machine that use Design Space: Cricut Joy, Cricut Joy Xtra., Explore Family machines, and Makers. We will not be using the older models that only use cartridges.

Question 3

I have a Maker and I don’t need a mat if I use Smart vinyl. Do I still need to bring one?

Accepted Answer

No. However, we will be using everyday vinyl, not Smart vinyl. Therefore a mat is necessary, even in a Maker machine. But I will bring extra 12x12 mats.

Question 4

Do I have to use a laptop?

Accepted Answer

No. Design Space can be downloaded on most smart devices, as well as a laptop. A laptop is only a preferred method due to the usability as a beginner. However you may use any device.

Question 5

When I downloaded Design Space, it suggested I get Cricut Access. Do I need it for the class?

Accepted Answer

No, not really, but you will have access to a very limited number of images.  Cricut Access gives you access to thousands of images, fonts and projects. You can either stick with the limited free option, sign up for $10/mo. , sign up for the free trial, or pay for images and fonts individually.
