<h3>Let's get real about creativity during stressful times. </h3>OwnTrail presents a conversation with Jen Fischer, Susan Lieu and Brandi Nicole Payne with moderator Kaitlin Maud as these trailblazers discuss creativity as an outlet, managing creative blocks and more. They're sharing their authentic experiences and insights in an open conversation for creators of all kinds in this free virtual event in solidarity for Stress Awareness Month.

<a href="https://owntrail.com/trail/moon" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kaitlin Maud</a> (moderator) is an accomplished researcher and strategist with over a decade of experience working at ad agencies like Deutsch, BBH, and Media Arts Lab and with brands such as Beats by Dre, Taco Bell, Disney, and Google. Outside of work, she is an artist, activist, mother and two-time TEDx speaker. Later this year she will be starting the Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Art Therapy Graduate program at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. <a href="https://owntrail.com/trail/susanlieu" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Susan Lieu</a> is a Vietnamese-American activist, playwright, performer, and author who tells stories that refuse to be forgotten. With a vision for individual and community healing—made possible through the interplay of comedy and drama—her work delves deeply into the lived realities of body insecurity, grieving, and trauma. Her first theatrical solo show, “140 LBS: HOW BEAUTY KILLED MY MOTHER” is the true story of how her mother died from plastic surgery malpractice when Lieu was 11 years old and her search to find her mother&#x27;s killer. Susan self-produced a nearly sold-out 10-city national tour with press from L.A. Times, NPR, The Washington Post (The Lily), NBC News, American Theatre, and The Seattle Times. Lieu has performed her show and its sequel &quot;OVER 140 LBS&quot; 52 times to 6000 people. Her work has been showcased with ACT Theatre, The Wing Luke Museum, The Moth at Benaroya Hall, On The Boards, and Bumbershoot. Susan has a BA from Harvard, an MBA from Yale, and is the co-founder of Socola Chocolatier, an artisanal chocolate company in San Francisco.<a href="https://owntrail.com/trail/indiejenfischer" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jen Fischer</a> is a writer, film producer, and community builder. For her multi-award winning film, &quot;Smuggled,” Jennifer created a successful self-distribution strategy and outreach approach that resulted in nearly 100 theatrical screening events at universities, colleges and community organizations throughout the United States and abroad including her short “The wHOLE” premiering at Amnesty International’s 50th Anniversary Human Rights Conference. Her work has been featured by multiple media outlets, such as NBCLatino, NBCBLK, ABC, Fusion, Univision, Vice News, and others. Jennifer writes about filmmaking, motherhood, and social justice and is currently working on a novel series that draws on 10 years of genocide research. Her essay “Coffee Can Change” was published in It’s Not All About You: Young Adults Seeking Justice, edited by Julie Richardson Brown and Courtney Richards, published by Chalice Press. She holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College in International Cultural &amp; Media Studies and a MA from Harvard University in Middle Eastern Studies, where she received a prestigious FLAS Scholarship.<a href="https://owntrail.com/trail/brandinicole" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Brandi Nicole Payne</a> is an artivist who splits her time between Memphis, Atlanta and Los Angeles. While she started off as an actor, she fell in love with the storytelling process after writing &amp; producing MUTED, a short film about media discrepancy when a child of color goes missing, which was acquired by HBO, selected for the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative Program and to date has just over 160k views on YouTube via Issa Rae’s #ShortFilmSundays. As an emerging storyteller, she recently wrote her first freelance TV episode and is currently developing her feature film SPIN. An HBCU grad, HBO Writers Program alum and proud member of RAINN&#x27;S Speakers Bureau, her goal as an actor, writer and filmmaker is to use story to spark discussion, create community and help facilitate healing.
