Capitol Creative Alliance presents our first speaker event of 2022. There is much to learn about our individual creativity by understanding how creativity intersects with other industries. All year we will be exploring ‘intersections.’ What happens at the intersection of creativity and fashion? Or technology? Each Creativity Speaks Intersection event will feature conversations with two speakers from diverse backgrounds offering their unique perspectives on the topic. On February 22, 2022, we have Jason Vu, with Swish Authentics, and Stephanie Bozzalla, with Identity Boutique.Get to know our speakers:Jason Vu: Jason Vu is the Founder and Creator of progressive fashion and lifestyle brand SWISH AUTHENTICS. An integral leader with notable experience in retail, merchandising and global business studies, Jason excels at discovering opportunities to connect and collaborate with both sports and entertainment brands. Jason was born in Vietnam and later, immigrated to the US to eventually pursue his career in fashion and design. Inspired by other Asian American designers like the late Jonas Bevacqua of LRG as well as Rhuigi Villaseñor of RHUDE, Jason hopes that his own success story helps to inspire the next generation of Asian American designers. While pursuing his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Global Business at Sacramento State University, his design ambitions were consistently pursued on the side. But following graduation, Jason acquired further involvement in fashion as well as development and manufacturing, eventually leading to the official launch of SWISH AUTHENTICS in 2017. He realized what was missing in the market and now, a personalized touch to typical sportswear design is a SWISH specialty. His unique lifestyle brand has launched collaborations with NBA teams such as the Sacramento Kings and the Cleveland Cavaliers to produce custom merchandise with appeal to sports lovers across the globe. As a self-taught designer, Jason is consistently delivering refreshing ways to use clothing as a means of telling a story through genuine connection and collaboration. Now, SWISH AUTHENTICS has carved out its own lane by finding a unique synergy between sportswear, streetwear and innovative fashion design.Stephanie Bozzalla: As a first generation Argentinian immigrant and dreamer, Stephanie has an innate desire to succeed and an undying appreciation for the countless sacrifices her parents made in order to provide her with an opportunity at a more fulfilling life. While achieving a Fashion Design and Merchandising Degree from Sacramento State University and simultaneously working at Nordstrom, Stephanie knew she was destined for more than the monotony and constraints of Department store life. In 2014, along with her partner, Shane Twilla, Stephanie purchased Identity Boutique. Identity strives to provide carefully curated and exceptional quality clothing and accessories for the greater Sacramento community and beyond. After growing the men’s apparel side of Identity and expanding to DOCO, Stephanie continues to explore new and innovative ways to market Identity’s unique, elevated and timeless basics in order to take the guess work out of styling ones everyday wardrobe.What is “Creativity Speaks”? Creativity Speaks is a program designed to celebrate local creatives, affect attendees/listeners to be inspired by creatives outside their industry, and build our creative community. The program manifests as a podcast and live salon-style events. We feature traditional and non-traditional creatives to draw mixed audiences to encourage intermingling between creative industries, as well as traditional and non-traditional creatives. Creativity Speaks is dedicated to equitable representation and a celebration of the diversity of creative thought.Doors open at 5:30pm, talks start at 6:00pm
