About this event

Young writers age 9-13 are welcome to join author & Write Well Brooklyn founder Ashleigh Bell Pedersen for a weekly hour of writing prompts, exercises, and optional sharing! Our aim is to have fun with stories, words, poetry, and more. All you need is a writing utensil and paper, or a means of writing on your computer (Word, Google doc, etc.!)...and of course your own imagination.

Frequently asked questions

My child is a little younger or older than the recommended age range—is that okay?

WWB generally upholds the age guidelines to maintain the comfort level of participants.

Who will be teaching Creativity Club? What are your credentials?

Ashleigh Bell Pedersen has made a career of not only writing, but teaching young people to write. She has lead writing camps and workshops for kids, previously worked as a classroom teacher for middle and high schoolers, and regularly offers 1-1 writing coaching sessions with young people.

What will a typical Creativity Club meeting look like?

Fun + community! On a typical Sunday, students will receive a warm-up prompt, then optional writing prompts focused on poetry, fiction, and/or nonfiction. Afterwards, we will have time for a little optional sharing! We may also read little inspiring bits of writing together...

We can't do Creativity Club, but may be interested in other services. Can you share more?

Yes! The best way to inquire into writing coaching services or learn about new opportunities with WWB is to visit www.writewellbrooklyn.com, and be sure to sign up for the newsletter. You can also email WWB at heyadmin@writewellbrooklyn.com or complete the contact form on the website.
