About this event

4-day Art Camp meeting on June 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th from 9am-12pm at the Museum of Art in Downtown Fort Collins.

Welcome!

I am Annie McNeil, elementary art teacher for 15 years. I believe kids are artists! They are curious, imaginative, brave, and excited. Art studio’s provide students the space and time to explore, create, and tell their stories.

Join me for this 4-day art program where, "The Child is the Artist and this is Their Studio." Over our 4 days, students will have access to a variety of art making materials including kiln-fire clay, pastels, paint sticks, watercolors and more. While giving daily demonstrations on techniques, students will be encouraged to formulate their own ideas and create art of their choice using the given materials. Choice-based art education is designed to allow students to individualize their art projects and not copy a teacher model.

I am excited to help students on this journey of creativity and see where it takes us! -Annie McNeil (Art Educator)

WHEN: Classes will be Thursday, Friday, Monday, & Tuesday from 9:00am-12:00pm. This split-week schedule is so we can have the weekend to let our clay projects fully dry so they can be kiln-fired.

WHERE: Classes will be held in the upstairs studio in the Museum of Art Fort Collins (MoA).

201 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524

COST: $350 per session. 1 student pass includes all 4 days and includes low-fire white clay and glaze, heavyweight drawing paper, canvas, watercolor paints, pastels, tempera paint and varying other art materials to explore.

AGE : This class is geared for 7-12 year-olds.

Theme: Art is Adventure, Artists are Explorers, Materials are Magic. -Stephie Morton

Tentative Daily Schedule:
Day 1: Clay exploration using slab-building technique and pempera painting on canvas.

Day 2: Oil pastels, colored tissue paper, sharpies, and colored pencils.

Day 3: Stencils, collage & glaze pottery.
