Learn the art of the short story. In this 4 part workshop participants will learn essential elements of crafting a compelling short story including character development, dialogue, structure, and plot. This four session workshop will highlight:

  • Show vs Tell
  • Story Arc
  • Creating Engaging Content
  • Tag Lines in Dialogue
  • Editing your own work
  • and more!

Students grades 9-12. Students who own a laptop are encouraged to bring it with them to class. The library has limited laptops for use. Laptops are not necessary for this workshop but are encouraged.

Instructor

Cynthia Di Filippo Elomaa is a local author of children's and young adult novels as well as a freelance designer. You can learn more about her and her body of working by visiting her website.
