A social group intended to help maintain mental health and well-being through creative exploration.
Creative Wellness is a weekly creative session intended to maintain and support mental health and wellbeing. Each week, there will be an art therapy prompt centred around mental health, where you will have a chance to discover metaphor, self-exploration and meaning-making through art. This is more than just an art club; it is a safe space for you to connect with like-minded people who support your recovery journey.
🖌️ Try out new mediums and materials each week.
🖼️ Learn from others about what it means to stay mentally healthy and well.
🛋️ A neurodiverse friendly and supportive environment to feel safe in.
🎨 You do NOT need to be an artist; there are no skills required!
🧑🎨 Total creative freedom - make your OWN thing (this is NOT a paint and sip!)
The Art Therapist;
With a background in youth and community services, Cheryl did her BA Art Psychotherapy at IKON Institute and has a BA in Community Development. While Cheryl takes a client-centred approach to art therapy but prefers to create community, as mental illness is not something that should be shunned or shamed. With the rise of AI and technology, we have never been driven further apart, so at a time when human connection is more important than ever, I invite you to connect and create!
The Social Hermit is a BIPOC friendly, gender-affirming and neurodivergent space, please enter with an open mind; discriminatory language will not be tolerated.
These sessions are held on Boorloo Wadjuk Ngoongar Boodja; sovereignty has never been ceded.
