AIGA DC's annual Creative Review is coming back!

<p>AIGA DC Creative Review is back April 30! Join us to learn how the creative industry is adapting to remote/hybrid work environments and have a one-on-one portfolio review session with seasoned design professionals from the DMV area. Whether you’re a design student wondering what it’s like to work in a creative field or a practicing designer looking for feedback on your work, this event will prepare you  for your next opportunity.</p><p>The day will kick off at 9:30 AM with a panel of local design leaders who will share their experience navigating the design field and adapting to the new remote work environment, followed by a Q&amp;A session where you can have your most burning career questions answered. Portfolio reviews will start at 10:30 AM. When you’re not in a review session, hang out and get to know fellow creative professionals in our community.</p><p>This year, we are lucky to have portfolio reviewers coming from these organizations: Ad Hoc LLC, Adfero, AHIP, Artemis Ward, Capital One, City of Gaithersburg, DAI, Discovery, Education Development Center (EDC), FINRA, George Washington University Creative Service, Gunnison Consulting Group, Inc., HAWJ Studio, Humankind Studio, Library of Congress, Optoro, Promontory, Taco Bell, The Washington Post, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Wide Eye.</p><h2></h2><h2>Creative Review 2022 Panel</h2><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ruzannarozman" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ruzanna Rozman</a> (Moderator)</h3><p>Ruzanna Rozman is a product designer, focused on creating meaningful impact. An expert at connecting dots, she is a leader in facilitating product strategy and establishing UX/UI design processes across cross-functional teams. If she could, she would use design thinking to solve every type of problem. She currently leads AIGA Cincinnati as president and is an advocate for inclusive design, always ready to be the voice that’s absent from the room. Challenging the status quo is kind of her thing.</p><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/phimher" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Phim Her</a> (Panelist)</h3><p>Phim Her is the founder of HAWJ Studio, a multidisciplinary design, strategy and career coaching studio. Her previous work incarnations include being a senior product marketing manager and a global marketing solutions manager at The Washington Post, a senior designer at POLITICO and co-chair of AIGA National&#x27;s Diversity &amp; Inclusion Task Force.</p><p>She has spoken for the United Nation&#x27;s Global People&#x27;s Summit, the AIGA National Conference, the Embassy of Italy and the OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates. She looks forward to joining the AIGA DC community&#x27;s annual Creative Review.</p><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/bartholomew-lyons-34280276" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bartholomew Lyons</a> (Panelist)</h3><p>Born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia, Bartholomew Lyons graduated from Temple University&#x27;s Tyler School of Art with a BFA in Graphic &amp; Interactive Design. He currently leads the creative team at Adfero, a DC strategic communications firm, as Art Director for clients across the company&#x27;s practice areas.</p><p>Bartholomew is passionate about creating thoughtful, holistic, branded experiences. That said, he lives for the brand, not just the logo. He&#x27;s well-versed in executing and leading projects for print, digital, environmental, and animated media; and has created for entities large and small such as IFC Films, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Vivant Art Consulting, The College of Arts, Media &amp; Design at Northeastern University, ESF Camps &amp; Experiences, The END Fund, Fireside, The National Association of REALTORS®, and The American Medical Association.</p><p>Outside of the above, you might find Bartholomew throughout the DMV dancing Salsa, Roller skating, speaking French, or crocheting, if not at a creative event in his pursuits to exchange knowledge.</p><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/christophermontwill" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Chris Montwill</a> (Panelist)</h3><p>Chris is a Creative Director with over 18 years of design, strategic thinking, research, and user experience expertise. He believes a good story, questioning the status quo, and a good deal of elbow grease can change the world. He has worked for a wide range of companies, causes and organizations crafting digital experiences for Fannie May Candies, Walgreens, Bloomberg, Rustoleum, NOAA, Feeding America, the ALS Association, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and The PAN Foundation. He has taught at Chicago Portfolio School and Columbia College and lives in DC with his partner and two cats.</p><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/iamlaurenrussell/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lauren Russell </a>(Panelist)</h3><p>Lauren is a designer, researcher and strategist with concentration in the civic tech space. She has completed a number of projects with federal agencies, as well as an industrial designer for physical spaces.</p><p>Lauren’s passion for systems thinking and  usable technology help her create accessible and intuitive digital experiences. With foundational graphic design experience, she often finds true meaning at the intersection of making beautiful and smart products.</p><p>Lauren is currently a mobile designer partnering with the U.S. Digital Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at The George Washington University.
