An intimate showcase of creative writing, spoken word and visual art by MA Creative Practice students
Join us for an intimate afternoon celebrating the work of Master's students in Creative Practice as they share projects developed throughout their studies.
Set within a cosy holistic and creative space in East London, the Creative Practice Showcase offers visitors the opportunity to meet emerging creative practitioners, hear readings from original works, explore a small visual art exhibition, and engage in conversation with the artists about their creative practice.
Throughout the afternoon, four MA students will present readings from their work, including creative writing, spoken word and published writing. There will also be a small exhibition of original artwork exploring contemporary identity through Bulgarian cultural heritage.
Visitors are welcome to browse books and creative work available to purchase, talk with the artists about their projects, and experience the relaxed, informal atmosphere of the showcase.
The space also includes a small shop offering a thoughtfully curated selection of holistic products, crystals, candles and handmade items, creating a unique setting in which to spend the afternoon.

Tradition in New Light
Elisaveta explores the relationship between Bulgarian cultural heritage and contemporary identity through a series of portrait illustrations of women wearing traditional Bulgarian costumes. The aim is to present tradition in a new context by combining elements of historical dress with subtle references to modern life, such as smartphones, headphones, or sunglasses. By bringing together past and present, the project seeks to show that cultural heritage is not static, but something that continues to exist and evolve in contemporary society.

To Decolonise is a Spiritual Practice
Through original spoken word, creative writing and an intentionally chosen piece of music, To Decolonise is a Spiritual Practice invites you to sit in contemplation rather than seek an immediate answer or understanding. Sonya’s creative practice is centred in space holding and dialogue, with this work reflecting on themes of cultural and spiritual rupture, the erasure of mother tongue, ancestral memory and healing. To Decolonise is a Spiritual Practice is an invitation to sit with the work as it unfolds and consider who is telling the story, what truths do those narratives hold, inviting a deeper exploration around belonging and repair.
