Creative Morning Practice: Draw with Ohn Mar Win & Samantha Dion Baker

Learn how Samantha Dion Baker and Ohn Mar Win get into the creative flow in the morning to enrich your own creative morning practice. With varying approaches, both Samantha and Ohn Mar have developed morning routines that spark their creativity and plant seeds for their artistic projects. This Live Session offers the opportunity to tone down perfectionist tendencies — loosening up your creativity to let it flow freely.

You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look into both artists' creative mornings and the sketches that have come out of those sessions. Ohn Mar and Samantha will also do live demonstrations to share their simple, minimalistic, and distinct approaches to getting ideas down on paper.

In this session, you will:

• Learn practical tips for starting off your day creatively
• Discover Samantha Dion Baker and Ohn Mar Win’s distinct processes for creating on the go and how to capture ideas "in the moment"
• Follow-along with mini-demonstrations from Ohn Mar and Samantha
• Learn how to build a minimal artistic toolkit that inspires you to create while on the go
• Design your own morning routine to get outside and create to start your day

Materials and supplies to bring to the session:

• Paper for drawing and/or watercolor
• Your favorite drawing tool(s) and/or paint brush and paint
• Important: Bring 3 to 4 photos of your surroundings, focusing on close-up, mid-range, and wide-angle shots of anything intriguing. Additionally, Samantha and Ohn Mar will supply three or four images each. These images will serve as references during their live demonstrations, so that you can observe their individual interpretations.

All levels are welcome and no drawing or painting skills are required. Whether your are an experienced illustrator or watercolorist, or someone just beginning to expand into these arts, you will walk away with inspiration and practical tips to start off your day creatively.
