Creative Development Series: Projection Mapping
An introduction to projection mapping, a technique that transforms objects and spaces into dynamic, interactive displays.
Join the team from VirginiaTech's Institute for Creativity, Art and Technology (ICAT) for this hands-on introduction to projection mapping, a technique that transforms objects and spaces into dynamic, interactive displays using digital projections.
Participants will learn the basics of designing, mapping, and projecting visuals onto irregular surfaces like buildings, sculptures, or everyday objects. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, attendees will gain an understanding of the hardware, software, and creative concepts involved in projection mapping.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the skills to experiment with their own projection mapping projects, blending art, technology, and architecture in new and exciting ways.
No prior experience is necessary, though a basic familiarity with design software will be helpful. Tools and equipment will be provided.
