About this workshop:
In this 90-minute virtual workshop you will learn about ways in which our physical space impacts our mental health, and how you can harness your space to improve your mental health through intentional design. Healing occurs through both environment and experience, and this workshop helps you begin crafting an environment that can become your personal sanctuary.
About the Instructor:
Mara Pitcher is a Licensed Massage Therapist, master garedener, and award-winning researcher on trauma and hardship. These tactile skills developed from lived experience, coupled with her undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University (SMU) and University College in Oxford, creating the foundation for her practice.
Her research was awarded the Herbert Pickens Gambrell Award for outstanding academic achievement by SMU. The research sought to advance understanding at the intersection of medical history and social history, meaning how humans have advanced to cope with trauma and hardship including large scale pandemics.
She expanded on this research with bodywork training and a certificationfrom world leaders in neurosomatics at the Embody Lab to better understand how we can heal using the mind body connection.
She is a big believer that "healing occurs through both environment and experience," and this workshop is designed to jumpstart healing for attendees.
