Sessions and Times
Their Future is now Up to YOU! We receive a diagnosis for our child and then what? What is our vision for our child? How do we change our perspective? Learn that futures planning begins at diagnosis and the importance this plays upon your child’s IEP. 9:30 am to 10:45 am
 PLAAFP – Writing the story PLAAFP - Present Levels of Academic Achievement & Functional Performance provide the foundation for developing a student’s measurable goals and objectives – they tell a story. But where do you start? Do you have useful data? Where does the data come from? What must be included in a PLAAFP? When is the PLAAFP created and how does it connect to student goals and objectives? 11:00 am to 12:15 pm
MEASURABLE IEP GOALS & OBJECTIVES – Creating positive learning outcomes How do you write measurable goals? Are objectives necessary? What should the goals be based on? Are the goals and objectives appropriate? How is progress measured? What about grading? Whether a student is just entering pre-school or planning for graduation, all goals included in the student’s IEP should be written to help him/her meet their unique needs and to prepare them for further education, employment and independent living – adult life. 12:45 pm to 2:00 pm
LRE – Where will my child receive their special education services? What does IDEA say about the Least Restrictive Environment – LRE? Who determines where services are provided? How do you ensure services are provided in the LRE? There is a continuum, not just two choices! Do you know the options? 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm
SPACE IS LIMITED. Pre-registration required for planning purposes. CPEs for Texas Educators & CEUs for Social Workers, LPCs & EIS are available for this event.
If you are going to be there all day please make sure you register for an all day ticket.  If you are going to individual sessions only, please make sure you only register for the sessions you will be attending.  If you need CPEs or CEU's please make sure you purchase a $15 CPE/CEU ticket. CPEs are applicable for Texas Educators and CEU's are applicable to Social Workers, LPCs & EIS.
