Description
Community is strengthened by genuine relationships—recognizing what we have in common and honoring what makes us different. Listening and conversation can grow trust, create empathy, and strengthen connections. Building and growing our community is at the heart of the Community Engagement Corps’ work. Join us for a conversation to help build community, centered around the questions below:
- What do you most appreciate about living in Lancaster?
- What makes a community? What kind of community do you want to live in?
- What do you think needs to happen for Lancaster to become the community we love to live in?
- What specific actions can individuals, businesses, and community groups take to help strengthen community connections?
Our Community Conversations follow a simple format: a welcoming and comfortable space; respectful discussion among interested participants; and a shared commitment to listening first to understand. Conversation topics are shared in advance, refreshments are provided, and all are welcome. At the end of each conversation, participants are asked to reflect on the actions they can take to continue to build the kind of community they would like to live in.
Admission is free. Please register in advance to help us plan for refreshments.
