Creating a Nelsonville City Council Ward Map: An Introduction
Join us for the first in a series of town hall meetings to learn about and participate in the creation of new ward maps for the Nelsonville City Council. Democracy works best when we all play a role, and this is your chance to help shape – literally! – the future of our community. Here's what's happening: Last year, the people of Nelsonville voted to abolish their city’s charter and go back to the general statutory form of government in place until 1994, when the charter was adopted. This requires the city to be divided into four wards, equal in number to the members of the city council to be elected from wards. Be a part in the creation of these wards.
