About this event

Participants in this program get closer to the Bays than ever before as they explore the shallow waters of the Indian River Bay for aquatic life and handle living organisms! This program will focus on invasive and native crabs that call the Inland Bays home. As a group, we identify and discuss different fish, crabs and other plants and animals that we can find here at the James Farm Ecological Preserve!

Perfect for participants of all ages! Kids Days allow children of all ages to connect with nature and explore by utilizing hands-on learning!

Participants will be in and around the water, so please wear clothes & shoes that can get wet and/or sandy. Closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Please remember to bring water, sunscreen and insect repellant, if desired since the Preserve can be buggy.

Please note: Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.

We'll be walking about .25 miles to the beach and spending the majority of the program at the beach wading in the water.

This program is weather permitting. Attendance is free, pre-registration is encouraged. Questions? Contact Maddie Fox at mfox@inlandbays.org
