As death is unavoidable, so is talking about it. What if we embraced the
unavoidable through our writing?

Join <a href="https://www.instagram.com/alexia_chatelle" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">kevanté ac cash</a> for an unconventional creative writing workshop where we will craft our *own* eulogies, from start to imagined finish!In this session, we will draw upon themes of identity via philosophy, (family) history, feminisms, (ill) mental health and queer culture within our writing by naming:<ul><li>Who we were</li><li> How we loved</li><li> What we stood for</li><li> With whom and/or what we struggled with</li><li> What we achieved (or had hoped to)</li><li> What lit us up/set our hearts ablaze</li></ul>Through preparing our own eulogies, it is hoped that we set reflective eyes on the lives we are currently leading, celebrating the wins — big or small, embracing the parts of ourselves we like and/or dislike, and speaking into existence accomplishing the things we desire for our bright, big futures ahead.What good is it anyway trying to avoid the inevitable? Let’s write the meaning of life now!*﻿ This workshop is part of the <a href="https://www.brokengreywires.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Broken Grey Wires</a> project,<a href="https://www.phoenixbrighton.org/Events/are-you-a-woman-in-authority/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> &#x27;Are you a woman in Authority?&#x27; </a>exploring empowerment, gender, and community. &#x27;Are You A Woman in Authority?&#x27; communicates the powerful rhetoric behind key social issues: mental illness, class struggles, race, queerness and feminist discourse, and how these intersect. It brings together established, critically acclaimed artists and provides a platform for emerging artists.T﻿he exhibition is open from Saturday 30 September to Sunday 19 November. J﻿oin us at the opening on Friday 29 September (6pm - 8pm)
