About this event

Tea culture has long been part of the fabric of Japan. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make and enjoy an authentic cup of sencha and matcha, using high quality tea and tools.

Host Aya Matsumoto will take participants through the tea culture of Kyoto. The tea from the workshop is from Ima Kyoto, specializing in high-quality tea, including traditional Japanese sencha and matcha. Based out of Wazuka, Kyoto—Japan’s “Teatopia”, they partner with a farming family that’s been cultivating tea for over 300 years.

Using handcrafted products by Kanaami Tsuji, you’ll learn to brew delicious tea using a cup and a tea strainer. These tools have been developed and refined to make it simple to enjoy a cup of delicious tea every day.

Participants will go home with a Kanaami Tsuji strainer & cup.
