The Commentary Social House will be launching a Craft Beer Dinner Series starting this January in partnership with Port City Brewing.

The Commentary Social House will be launching a Craft Beer Dinner Series starting this January in partnership with Port City Brewing. Guests can enjoy live music along with their favorite beer and seasonal dishes while receiving expert tips on how to pair delicious craft beers with their next meal.A portion of proceeds from the Craft Beer Dinners will be donated to Save the Children. The first dinner in the series will be in partnership with Port City Brewing on Thursday, January 19th from 7 pm - 9 pm. Executive Chef Francecil Ponte will collaborate with Port City Brewing to pair their seasonal and special holiday brew with a five-course menu. Port City will be offering a variety of featured craft and canned beers to pair perfectly with each course. T﻿he next Craft Beer Dinner will be on Thursday, February 16th from 7pm-9pm in partnership with Solace Brewing.

Craft Beer Pairing Dinner Menu—————FIRST COURSE————— 
GRILLED FUYU PERSIMMON SALAD WITH BACON &amp; GOAT CHEESE FRITTER with butter lettuce, toasted candied almonds &amp; whole grain mustard vinaigrette 
BEER PAIRING: PORT CITY HAZY IPA 
Brewed to highlight hop aroma and flavor, hazy IPA has intense notes of tropical fruit and bright citrus on the nose. Super juicy flavors of mango, peach, and tangerine accompany a crisp malt character. This hazy IPA is soft on the bitterness, finishing clean and smooth all the way around. 6.8% ABV

CRISPY CHICKEN SLIDERS 
kimchi butter, ponzu cucumbers, frisee, grilled pineapple &amp; roasted sesame dressing BEER PAIRING: OPTIMAL WIT 
Optimal® Wit is a Belgian-style witbier brewed with 100% Virginia grown wheat and the perfect balance of spices. Soft notes of sweet citrus and spice in the aroma, and a touch of fruity tartness in the taste. Silky smooth in the mouthfeel, Optimal® Wit finishes crisp and refreshing. 4.9% ABV

HERB &amp; BUTTER POACHED HALIBUT 
with potato &amp; fennel puree, rainbow baby carrots, fried shallots &amp; aleppo pepper sauce BEER PAIRING: DOWNRIGHT PILSNER 
Downright Pilsner was the first lager to become a Port City flagship. It debuted in 2012 as our first summer seasonal. Downright Pilsner is a brilliant golden lager, medium-bodied with a soft, round malt profile and crisp, spicy hop character. We brew Downright in the traditional Czech Pilsner style, using 100% Pilsner 
malt and noble Czech hops, Saaz and Kazbek. To further accentuate the spicy aroma, we dry hop our pils ner with additional Kazbek hops. Totally unfiltered. 4.8% ABV

GRILLED FILET MIGNON 
cabernet demi-glace, grilled garlic broccolini &amp; smashed rosemary fingerling potatoes BEER PAIRING: DUNKEL 
Dunkel is a German-style dark lager from Bavaria, made popular in Munich and known for balancing a dark malt character with lager smoothness. Port City&#x27;s Dunkel is chestnut in color with a toasty malt aroma, and flavors of nut and caramel. This lager is medium in body, finishing with a refreshing crispness. 5% ABV

DESSERT TRIO 
mini key lime tarte, mini chocolate lava cake &amp; mini strawberry shortcake trifle 
BEER PAIRING: METRO RED IPA 
Metro Red® is an American Red IPA with notes of sweet citrus and pine in the aroma. This medium bodied brew has flavors of dark caramel &amp; citrus, finishing with a smooth West Coast hoppy bitterness. 6.5% ABV
