Event description

Description

To support schools in developing strong Career Pathways Programs of Study (CPPS), YouthForce NOLA is holding a workshop on Improving Student Experiences and Outcomes with Soft Skills on Thursday, March 5th, 9-11am at our new YouthForce office, 1100 Poydras Street, Suite 1405.

WHO: CPPS/CTE Leads, Administrators, Counselors, Teachers, and Social Workers from YouthForce NOLA Partner and Affiliate High Schools (Attending as a school team of 2-3 staff members is strongly encouraged!)

WHAT: Participants will identify and explain soft skills; articulate the value of soft skills to a student's academic, professional, and personal life; identify at least one soft skill that is relevant in their specific work with students; plan ways to incorporate soft skills into their school communities

WHY: While academic success is essential for students, success in school, work, and life requires more. Our students need the cognitive, social, and personal skills that keep them organized, confident, and motivated to navigate challenging and demanding situations. In this session educators and leaders will learn about 21st century soft skills and how to support students in developing and applying those skills. Additionally, participants will get access to resources and events to further develop their practices.
