CUYAHOGA COUNTY ARTISTS. A new artists training program can help you learn skills to collaborate and co-design with community. 
With support from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, The Center for Performance and Civic Practice (CPCP) is offering Learning Lab, a professional development program designed to train artists in civic, social, public and placemaking practices. The program also connects artists to local nonprofit partners and provides funding to explore and implement collaborative, project-based work. On October 11, CPCP's Learning Lab Project Director, Rebecca Martinez, will join us in Cleveland to offer a presentation about The Center for Performance and Civic Pracitce and their approach to arts-engaged collaboration. Afterwards, the focus turns to the Learning Lab program itself. Attendees are invited to learn about the program, its success in Nashville, Tennessee, and unique opportunity for artists coming to Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. Ample time will be allotted for Q&A.

We hope you will join us to learn about this new artist training and funding program. Use of public transportation is encouraged, as Trinity Commons is easily accessed via the RTA HealthLine. Limited street parking & paid surface lots are available nearby, including the Trinity Commons Parking Lot, which is $3.

MORE ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Twelve artists from Cuyahoga County will be selected through an application process to participate in CPCP’s Learning Lab. Participating artists must commit to three day-long training sessions (November 28, December 18, and January 10, 2019) followed by the opportunity to partner with a participating local nonprofit to develop a collaborative civic practice project.
Artists who complete the training will be eligible for up to $7,500 in funding develop public projects in partnership with a nonprofit and informed by Learning Lab’s practices. Projects must take place between March and November 2019.
