The first event of its kind in North Texas, Town of Addison in partnership with the Addison TreeHouse is hosting Coworking Day in the Park on October 11 at Addison Circle Park from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This unique event is free and open to the public.
We hear frequently from our members that they would love to have an outside working option. So we are making it happens!
Spectrum Reach, which has WiFi infrastructure in place at Addison parks, will provide free WiFi to all participants on this day. Restaurants near the circle will provide discounted items and food trucks will also be available during the lunch hour. After 5pm, (SOME LOCAL ESTABLISHMENT) will host a happy hour with discounted drinks where participants can network. A band called Brother, Conductor will play during happy hour. Come and support them. Alex Craig is also one of the Addison Treehouse members!
“Addison has long been known for its beautifully landscaped, award-winning parks which is a huge bonus for business in the community, and the Addison TreeHouse has become known as the place to start a business. When you combine the two, you end up with a serendipitous collision, unique to the region with a great opportunity for working people to enjoy,” explained Addison Economic Development and Tourism Director Orlando Campos.
This event was conceived to encourage businesses to get outdoors to network while enjoying Addison parks. Addison offers great amenities for all to enjoy and fall and spring in North Texas often provides great weather especially after coming out of a warm summer.
The Addison TreeHouse was launched nearly four years ago and is a partnership between The Dallas Entrepreneur Center (DEC), the Town of Addison, the Dallas Small Business Development Center, and Baylor University. Since opening, the TreeHouse has helped launch over 100 business startups.
The pavilion at Addison Circle Park will serve as the center for Coworking Day. It is already equipped with tables and chairs, as well as restrooms. Participants are also encouraged to bring picnic blankets if they would like to work in the open lawns.
