Couples Communication: Identifying the “Four Horsemen” in Your Relationship Conflicts
Research shows being able to identify the "Four Horsemen" is a necessary first step to eliminating harmful communication patterns and replacing them with healthy, productive communication patterns. In this 4-week virtual workshop, couples will learn to recognize unhealthy patterns of communication and learn new skills to use instead.
Join Gottman Method couples therapist Grace Underwood, MA, LCMHC, LPC as you and your partner learn to identify Gottman's “Four Horsemen” (criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling) in your conflicts, and practice their antidotes in a workshop setting.
This group is a great precursor, adjunct to, or refresher for couples therapy. It is appropriate for couples experiencing mild to moderate relationship distress and looking for practical strategies to have healthier communication and increase connection.
