T﻿his is a FREE family-friendly event! T﻿hough we have planned an educational bike ride with two stops, you can also join bike-free. If you choose not to join the bike ride, hang out at WildEdge Brewing Collective for beers and snacks. Come early and get your fill, or come later, any time between 5:30pm and 9pm. They&#x27;ll be staying open until 9pm just for us! While you hang out, complete the Cortez Cycle for Conservation bingo card to be entered into a prize drawing with great prizes from Kokopelli Bike &amp; Board, High Desert Life Outdoors &amp; Exchange, and Osprey! [Select the HANG AT WILDEDGE ticket option].I﻿f you are joining by bike, meet us in Montezuma Park no later than 5:30pm, so we can get cruising by 5:40pm. Though not required, we suggest that your bike has working front and rear lights, that you wear a helmet, and that you signal your intentions throughout the ride! We&#x27;ll head to Carpenter Natural Area from the park and hear from Al Schneider about this great open space in Cortez, with a special focus on wildflowers and weeds. Carpenter is also adjacent to one of MLC&#x27;s in-town conservation easements; we&#x27;ll hear briefly about this as we pedal past it on our loop back to Wild Edge. Otherwise, we&#x27;ll continue down to Hawkin&#x27;s to hear from Kellam Throgmorton and a little more about open space conservation easements.W﻿e&#x27;ll finish the evening at WildEdge with a prize drawing and hang-out. Make sure to complete your bingo card for an automatic entry. Two additional entries can be secured with a donation of $5 or more.D﻿onations are tax deductible as MLC is non-profit organization.
