Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or just starting out, this event is open to all. Come and share your verse, or simply listen and be inspired by others. Our friendly and supportive community will provide a warm atmosphere for you to express yourself.

Herbal tea and remedies, grounding meditation, and poetry is what this event is all about. I will introduce you to flower essences and how they work. They are a gentle herbal remedy to attune your emotional landscape to a centered place that you would like to get to.

You can expect to feel comfortable, relaxed, and inspired by the beautiful North Figueroa Bookshop. If you love books, enjoy writing, and crave community in a safe space, then this is the group for you!

Why are herbs and flowers involved in poetry writing?

Energetic patterns possessed by flowers are shown to sync up with our emotional patterns in order to move and shift perspective and well-being. Journaling and writing are effective ways to perceive the subtle messages of plants.

Do I have to be a poet or know how to write poetry?

Absolutely not! You just have to lean into your curiosity about expressing your feelings and thoughts through journaling and words. Writing alongside other poets and creative writers is a fantastic way to learn and be inspired to explore yourself through poetry.

Do I have to share my writing out loud in the group?

There are no requirements to share, but it is encouraged and welcomed! Sharing is how we learn and connect in a writing circle, but there is never any pressure.

Does it cost anything?

Cost is $10 and used as a way to support the North Figueroa Bookshop and the expense of the herbal remedies included in the writing circle.

How often does the poetry writing circle meet?

Every 1st Monday of the month at The North Figueroa Bookshop in Highland Park, Los Angeles. From 11:30am-1pm.
