AHE Networking – Hiking Club – Parsons Trail

AHE has a hiking club that meets on the second Saturday of every month!

Access information | Parsons Trail in Sycamore, AZ

When: May 10, 2025 at 9AM. The trail is approximately 4 miles round trip, leading to a scenic swimming hole.

Length: 11.7KM Elevation Gain: 247M Estimated Time: 2h57m

Trailhead: End of an unpaved track, 10 miles north of Clarkdale

Trailhead Coordinates: 34°51'50.7"N, 112°04'11.0"W

How to get to Parsons Trail?

From Flagstaff, drive 65 miles south on US 89A through Sedona to Cottonwood. At the intersection of US 89A and South Main Street in Cottonwood, go straight onto South Main. Follow this road for 4 miles (it becomes North Main, then South Broadway), then turn right onto the turnoff for Tuzigoot National Monument. Just across the Verde River, turn left onto Sycamore Canyon Road. Follow this for 4.6 miles until it becomes FR 131. Continue on the dirt road for another 5.4 miles to the trailhead parking lot.

Road Conditions: The last 6.4 miles are on a rocky, unpaved road. A high-clearance or 4WD vehicle is recommended, especially after rain.

Parking: Available at the trailhead. No fees or permits are required for parking.

Shuttle to Trailhead: The trailhead is accessible by personal vehicle; there is no shuttle service provided.

Additional Notes: Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. There are no facilities at the trailhead; hikers should come prepared with water and supplies.
