Using Copic Markers
Techniques covered:
Fills, washes, blending, gradients, layering, special effects, various textures, how to choose colors for highlights, midtones and shadows and how to choose values for shading.
Copic alcohol ink markers and multi-liners and covering information about that product line. Any brush tip alcohol markers will achieve similar results, but exact results will vary from product to product. Recommended paper for this project is mixed media, paper labeled for pen and ink, or vellum top bristol. Coloring sheets are provided for students to practice techniques on before moving on to their project.
Please bring:
- Paper
- A hard pencil for sketching/ a fine tip mechanical pencil for drawing
- Copic Multiliners or similar like Microns - .07, .05, BR or brush tip
- Alcohol brush tip markers - these colors or similar
- Minimum set of primary and secondary colors - Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Violet, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Black, Toner Grey 6, Toner Grey 4, Toner Gray 2 Colorless Blender
- Optional extra colors - Pink, Maroon, Indigo, Pale Blue, Goldenrod, Pale Yellow, Forest Green, Light Green, Peach, Red Orange, Dark Violet, Pale Violet, Sand, Warm Suntan, Warm Gray 5, Cool Gray 5, Cool Grey 8
