Welcome to Cool Birding High in The Clouds!

Come join us for a fun and exciting birdwatching adventure high up in the clouds! Get ready to spot some **amazing** high altitude species such as the White-headed Woodpecker, Western Bluebird, Red Crossbill, Western Tanager, and Clark’s Nutcracker, all the while enjoying the breathtaking views from above.

THE DETAILS:

  • Leader: Kurt Leuschner, Professor of Natural Resources, College of the Desert, Ornithologist
  • Date and Time: Friday, June 7, 10:30 am- about 12:30 pm ( see WEBSITE INSTRUCTIONS on purchasing Tram tickets and arriving on time) Remember MEMBERS receive a 20% discount on Tram tickets.
  • Meet at: 3rd floor terrace at the top of outdoor stairs one floor up from the 2nd floor Mountain Station tram terminal. Look for Kurt pictured below. If you cannot attend please cancel online as soon as you know.
  • Preparation: At least 1 liter of water, sturdy shoes, snack, binoculars (also available to loan at 1st floor Visitor Center) Hat, sun screen, bird check list (available at the NHA Visitor Center). Note: To borrow 1 or more BINOCULARS please email Kurt after registration.
  • Hike Level: Easy, mostly trail walk
  • Class Size: Limit: 12
