About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Have you ever eaten at a large community gathering and got sick?

We understand that you want your event to be a success, and having volunteers that emphasize food safety can provide you peace of mind while you concentrate on other areas of your fundraiser, fellowship, or community service.

Cooking for a large group can be tricky even for the most experienced cooks! How do you store all of that food? When is the dish fully cooked? How long can food be left on the buffet table?

This session will help you and your volunteers understand how to store, prepare, serve and handle food safely in order to lower the risk of a foodborne illness.

If you have accommodation requests related to a disability please submit them by May 23, 2025 to Marcy Williams at marcwilliams@orangecountync.gov, or call 919-245-2449.
