Cookie Decorating Class

Founded in 1978, the Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts and cultural organization that proudly serves nearly 400,000 residents in 21 Downriver communities. The DCA's mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Downriver communities by advocating and promoting the arts and providing opportunities for involvement and participation in arts and cultural activities. We actively support local artists and performers through artistic outreach programs and special promotional opportunities. The DCA also creates regional partnerships with other cultural organizations, schools and service clubs to promote artistic, cultural and special events throughout Southeast Michigan. We hold these activities in our Arts Center and by operating in the various cities we serve. Each program and event at the DCA seeks to increase knowledge and understanding of art and ourselves, improve skills by participants, change one’s attitude or values, give enjoyment, inspiration, and creativity.

SATURDAY, MAY 13TH from 11AM-1PMThis class is a great Mommy and Me date for those that want to learn how to decorate sugar cookies! Each ticket includes a dozen cookies, icing, and the tools to decorate. No need for any experience! All you need is to show up for a fun time!INSTRUCTOR: KAITLYN AXTELLAGES: 5 &amp; UPCOST: ADULTS $50 / KIDS 12 AND UNDER $35DOWNRIVER COUNCIL OF THE ARTS, 81 Chestnut, Wyandotte MIRegistration available online, in person or over the phone. Deadline to register is one week before the class .Questions? Email: dc4arts@downriverarts.org or call 734-720-0671.Space is limited. Check our website for current pandemic guidelines and hours of operation.Fine Print:If adults wish to participate in class, they must register. If you have a child participating in the class, adults are welcome to stay at the arts center during class time. Please be mindful that (especially during covid restricted times) we have a limited number of bodies allowed in a space. Feel free to roam the building, visit our main floor gallery, lounge in the hallway, explore the auditorium or create art. Wifi is available as well as spaces for you to work.It is the guardian’s/student’s responsibility to stay home if you are sick. If you have a fever, stay home. If someone in your house is sick, stay home. If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing, and cough please stay home. If you have been exposed or if you show signs of Covid-19, please stay home. If you miss a class, we will work with you on getting the instructions home to students, or possibly have an online option. If class is cancelled by the DCA or Executive Orders, we will refund your remaining classes.Hand sanitizer is available in common areas. Please wash hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds after touching metal surfaces, sneezing, coughing, blowing your nose or using the restroom. In the case of being diagnosed with Covid-19 or show symptoms, immediately notify the DCA by email at dc4arts@downriverarts.org.By registering for this class, you are agreeing to the terms listed above.
