About this event

  • 4 hours

Have fun, be inspired and support a very good cause at this invitation-only event, which begins at 7pm with drinks and mingling. This will be followed by a live "fireside chat" between veteran television journalist Vivian Lee (NY1 and CUNY TV) and Dr. Ambereen Sleemi, the founder and head surgeon of International Medical Response (IMR), which performs life-changing surgeries on women in war and disaster zones around the world, as well as provides medical training to local doctors and caregivers.

The interview will be followed by a live musical performance: Area Supergroup, playing interpretations of songs you thought you knew. Area Supergroup is Kazende George (sax), Peter Moffett (drums), Henry Fraser (bass) and David Snow (acoustic guitar and vocals). Expect audience participation and a surprise performance by IMR board member Ana Cutter.

The event's Master of Ceremonies will be veteran fun-generator Matt Botwin.

The venue is the Van Brunt Stillhouse, a distillery and bar deep in the heart of Red Hook, Brooklyn.
