About this event

We’re gathering virtually for four one-hour workshops to discuss specific situations family caregivers experience. We’ll convene a panel of family caregivers and encourage an interactive discussion with health care professionals.

We are approved to provide 1 CEU for each workshop. Registration for the event is free. The cost to receive 1 CEU after attending each workhop is $20. ** If you attend all 4 events, you'll receive 4 CEUs and only pay $20 for all 4 CEUs. ** (Scroll down for details.)

Agenda

Each workshop begins at 1 p.m. ET (Noon CT, 10 a.m. PT).

  • April 25: The Path to the Diagnosis: The path to the correct diagnosis can last years. Our panelists will share their experiences, their challenges and their ideas to help others struggling to find the correct diagnosis for a family member.
  • May 2: The Emergency Beginning to Caregiving. When caregiving begins because of a family member’s health care crisis, life changes in an instant. Panelists will share how they coped and how health care professionals can better support family caregivers who begin caring in an instant.
  • May 9: The Stuffed Calendar. When we care for a family member with a chronic illness, we manage multiple appointments with specialists and service providers. The calendar becomes our third full-time job after our day job and our caregiving responsibilities. How do we juggle so many appointments. How can health care professionals better support us?
  • May 16: Our Self-Care. Others tell us all the time: You can to take care of yourself. During caregiving, that’s easier said than done. Our panelists will discuss their challenges for finding time for self-care and how our communities and service providers can better support us so we can take care of ourselves.
