Converge is an American Metalcore band from Salem, Massachusetts. The band consists of vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller. They are credited for being one of the first bands to pioneer the Metalcore genre of music. Converge is considered to be Metalcore; a fusion of Heavy Metal and Hrdcore Punk in which they are also classified as. Their sound has also been described as mathcore, post-hardcore, noisecore, sludge metal, experimental hardcore, or simply hardcore.
