'Contributing to GitHub is for You'

The mission of the Des Moines Area Quality Assurance Association (DAQAA) is to be a network of QA professionals sharing experiences, processes, and methods in the QA information technology disciplines.DAQAA facilitates the exchange of knowledge, new ideas, and techniques for the purpose of educating its members. We hold a meeting on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss relevant topics in QA and testing.

Anyone who attends this session will learn about Git version control, GitHub, repositories, merging, pushing, committing, and where to go for more. We’ll also create our own GitHub accounts, contribute to at least one existing project and maybe begin your path to creating your own.

Chris Kenst is a Test Engineer at <A HREF="https://www.laurelandwolf.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Laurel & Wolf</A>, a startup disrupting the traditional version of interior design services. Simultaneously he works to improve the understanding of their product and it’s quality while also building infrastructure to help improve testing efficiency.
He was previously in testing and test leadership roles for a few startups, healthcare, telecom, banking and insurance company. Before that, he founded and ran a technical services company in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He hold a Bachelors from San Francisco State University. He has passed all of the <A HREF="http://www.associationforsoftwaretesting.org/training/graduates/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Black Box Software Testing</A> (BBST) courses, and is an occasional BBST Instructor.
