Contract Essentials: Small Business Edition
Contracts can make or break a business. Unfortunately, too many people sign them without really understanding what they mean. Successfully preparing and interpreting a contract allows both parties to clearly define expectations under the protection of the law.
This workshop is intended to help you identify contract terms to which you should pay the closest attention. Learn how to minimize your risk, protect your company, and create win-win situations when drafting, negotiating, and signing business contracts.
With the basic familiarity of contracts, you will be better able to assess and manage the contract-related risks associated with your business.
Some topics to be covered:
- When and why should I use contracts? What happens if I don’t use a contract?
- Is it okay to just sign contracts that another company asks me to sign, or should I have my own standard contract that I ask others to sign?
- How to decode and understand often confusing legal terms.
- How can contracts help me reduce business risks and future legal costs?
This workshop is designed for business owners, decision-makers, key personnel, and anyone involved in contracts who wants to review, negotiate, draft, and sign business contracts with confidence.
This workshop is not intended to be a comprehensive guide on contract issues and doesn't constitute as legal advice.
