Course DescriptionContent Design (CODE) is a six-week course that introduces a strategic approach to designing and creating community-engaged content that energizes and inspires your community members. Using new CSCCE frameworks, we’ll help you identify how to clearly share information, as well as explore the many ways content can work to empower members, highlight shared interests, and reinforce norms and expectations so that your members are confident that they belong in the community.During the course, we cover the fundamentals of writing clear and actionable prose. However, this course should not be thought of as a “writing 101” course – instead, it’s a design approach that can impact how you create a range of different content types for your community.StructureThis course consists of two 90-minute sessions per week. We anticipate approximately 30-60 minutes of homework between the sessions.That makes a total of 3 contact hours per week, plus no more than 90-minutes of homework, for 4.5 total hours per week.Graduation and digital badgeGraduation from the course requires completion of a final assignment. We expect all participants to attend at least 11 of the 12 sessions.Successful completion of the course will result in the award of a digital badge which can be shared online via social media platforms (including LinkedIn and X) and on your personal website. You will also have the option to be included on the CODE alumni page on the CSCCE website.Fall 2024 course datesThis is the second offering of Content Design (CODE24F), and will run on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning Tuesday, 17 September until Friday, 25 October 2024.The key dates are:<ul><li>Tuesday sessions: 17, 24 September; 1, 8,15, 22 October from 12:00pm - 1:30pm EDT / 4:00pm - 5:30pm UTC</li><li>Friday sessions: 20, 27 September; 4,11,18, 25 October from 12:00pm - 1:30pm EDT / 4:00pm - 5:30pm UTC</li></ul>PricingCSCCE offers rates to reflect the different organizations that community managers work for and the range of budgets that may be available.<ul><li>General rate: $1275 - For non-profits</li><li>Supporting rate: $1525 - Aimed at for profits and others who would like to support the participation of others</li><li>Discounted rate: Depending on participants paying the supporting rate, we may be able offer a limited number of discounted tickets for this cohort.
