Meet Allison Foster

From a young age of 8 years old, Allison Foster (Gary, IN) embarked on a captivating journey into the world of dance. Her passion for dance was ignited when she first met Nicole Hargro at Beyond The Pointe in Gary, IN. Allison auditioned to become a student at Emerson School for The Visual and Performing Arts, and this pivotal event helped mark the dance career that would take her to new heights. At Emerson, Allison had the privilege of honing her skills under the guidance of esteemed dance instructors and renowned dance companies, such as Ballet Chicago, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, and Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center, under the mentorship of luminaries like Homer Bryant and William Gill. Allison is also a former dancer with African American Dance Company in Bloomington, IN, where she first met Professor Iris Rosa, and sees her as one of her beloved “dance mothers.” Allison also participated in statewide and national level dance competitions including New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) and Indiana High School Dance Team Association (IHSDTA). Allison attributes much of her love and dedication to dance to the women dance instructors of her youth, including Porsha Reese, Michal Davis, Nicole Clarke-Springer, and all others who motivated and nurtured her as an artist.
