No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region, and online through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. If you are opposed to sharing your lovely face, let us know and we'll do our best to avoid that. Facilitated by Kate Cook. This is a 4 week class.
When it comes to preparing food for yourself or your family it's easy to run into feelings of fear and inadequcy. This class will bring playfulness and joy into the meal planning and preparing process. Using discussion and hands-on activities, participants will discover how the ritual of meal planning and preparing can make time more valuable. 
We all want to be eating “better” so we can feel better and have more energy. Most people consider cooking a chore, and are often afraid to try new things and techniques. There’s also the misconception that it costs a lot of money to eat well at home. Kate will change your mind. The first step is to get that kitchen under control! What do you really need to be able to “whip something up” for you and your family? How do you figure out how much of what to buy, when, and how long will it last in your fridge or pantry? What are the most essential tools for the home cook? Kate will tackle these questions and more, offering help for every budget.
Kate is a Cincinnati native and Northside resident, and has been a professional market grower for the last eight years. A passionate advocate for the local food scene, and a fearless home cook, Kate teaches classes on gardening and cooking, and is a regular guest on the radio program “In The Garden with Ron Wilson”.
This course will meet on 8/1, 8/8, 8/15, and 8/22
