Founded in 2009, Conspire Theatre offers currently and formerly incarcerated women a healing and empowering experience through theatre and creative writing. Our two main programs include classes at the Travis County Correctional Complex and an ensemble theatre company for women post-incarceration. Michelle Dahlenburg is the Artistic Director. Two performances only: Wed, June 29 at 7:30pm Thurs, June 30 at 7:30pm These experimental performances are the culmination of a 10-day workshop with 5 formerly incarcerated women led by <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/conspiretheatre/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Conspire Theatre</A> and internationally acclaimed guest director <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/alirio.zavarce.1" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Alirio Zavarce</A>**.  Please join us as our performers share what they've created together! Tickets are by donation to help us pay for space rental. Suggested Donation: $5-20. Please note that because we're using EventBrite's "donation mode," you can only purchase one ticket at a time.  Space is limited to 25-30 people each night, so reserve your tickets ASAP! (Yes, there is air conditioning :))

Parking info: There's a lot of street parking near Sparky Park, especially on Tom Green, 34th, and 35th streets. We're guests of the neighborhood, so please be thoughtful - don't block people's driveways, and spread cars throughout the neighborhood so each resident still has room to park in front of their house. Thank you! **Bio: Alirio Zavarce was born in Caracas, Venezuela and migrated to Australia in 1992. In 2000 he graduated from Flinders University Drama Centre. Over the last 14 years Alirio has performed at Malthouse Theatre, Windmill Theatre, State Theatre Company of South Australia and Sydney Theatre Company. He is a founding member of the Border Project and has performed in and co- created all of its productions. Alirio has developed and directed projects for: Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre, SYTE, Urban Myth, Multicultural Community Council of South Australia, Flinders University Drama Centre and the Community Arts Network. For No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability, Alirio directed, wrote and performed Trapped (winner of the 2011 Fringe Peace Foundation Award) and Sons & Mothers (winner of the 2012 Fringe Award for Best Theatre Production, the Adelaide Festival Centre inSPACE: Development Award and the Adelaide Critics Circle Best in Fringe Award). In 2013 Alirio wrote and performed The Book of Loco (winner of the 2013 Fringe Award for Best Theatre Production, Adelaide Festival Centre inSPACE: Development Award); and wrote and directed The Migration Project, which was presented as part of 2013 Come Out Festival. Alirio produced and directed Live From Channel 9 Studios, the newest interdisciplinary venue at the 2014 Adelaide Fringe, in which he created and performed The Chapel of Love and directed True North Youth Theatre Ensemble’s A Sense of Home (winner of the 2014 Fringe Peace Foundation Award). He just finished a season of The Book of Loco at the Malthouse Theatre and performed the role of Geppetto in Windmill Theatre’s Pinocchio (Malthouse Theatre/Sydney Opera House/The New Victory Theatre, New York, 2015).  Alirio is the Artistic Director of AJZ Productions and True North Youth Theatre Ensemble.
