Consolation for the Suffering

A CONCERT OF MUSIC AND NARRATIVE FOR THE MANY WHO SUFFER FOR THEIR FAITH
Produced by Brehm Center's Fred Bock Institute of Music at Fuller Theological Seminary, this unique music event seeks to amplify the stories we do not often listen for: the voices of the daily persecuted and suffering Christians around the world. Newly-composed music for choir, orchestra, and soloists will be interspersed with the stories of individuals who have suffered for their faith, creating a holistic reminder of, and lament for, our brothers and sisters. Choirs from Vanguard University and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Newport Beach will join conductor Dr. James L. Melton and conductor/composer Dr. Edwin M. Willmington of Fuller Theological Seminary to create an evening of listening, contemplation, and prayer. Through this music may we be prompted to pray and remember those who live under the often lethal reality of persecution everyday. 
Admission is free, but we strongly encourage you to please register in advance to ensure a seat. Anyone who chooses to donate in support of the communities represented in the concert will be gifted a CD copy of the evening's program.
Parking will be available in the lot directly west of the Lake Avenue sanctuary. Additionally, no-cost offsite parking will be available at Gateway Plaza, located at 300 N Lake Ave, on the south-east corner of Lake and Corson. Please enter off of Mentor St. A shuttle service will run every 5 minutes from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Fuller Seminary will also have open parking on it's campus at 135 N. Oakland Ave, a ten-minute walk from the Lake Avenue Church campus.

A second performance of Consolation for the Suffering is scheduled for February 25, 2018 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach. The program will begin at 4:00 pm.
