When: Saturday, July 11 @ 8:30 am-12 pm (Or however long people would like to stay).

Where: Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield, MN. Due to the Nature Center building construction, we will meet at an entrance at the northwest side of the park and use street parking. The closest address to this entrance is: 6738 Emerson Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55423. (See attached map below). We will meet at the park entrance gate and walk to planting site from there.

What: As part of a grant, Wood Lake has received funding to enhance a section of forest with native woodland flowers, grasses, and sedges. With your help, small potted plants will be transplanted and watered in order to increase the diversity of plants in the park. This enhancement will benefit birds and other wildlife that call Wood Lake home!

Other important details:

  • All gloves and equipment needed for the planting will be provided. Additionally, drinking water and granola bars will be available.
  • All that folks will need to bring is an outfit for being in the woods that they won't mind getting a little dirty!
