ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

A workshop that illuminates intimacy practice as a tool in a modern, robust rehearsal room – going beyond just physical consent, to form the fabric of our working ethos as 21st century artists. With a heart-led joyful approach, over the course of 2 afternoons we will discover how to create spaces fuelled by hope, not fear. Through physical exercises in boundaries, risk and residue, we emerge with shared language, unlocking creative freedom.

Frequently asked questions

Is SCRUM an accessible venue?

Unless otherwise stated, workshops take place downstairs. The downstairs of the building is fully wheelchair accessible. All bathrooms are gender neutral. There are two quiet rooms available. If you want to discuss your access needs in advance of a workshop, please get in touch.

Why is this workshop PWYC?

This summer season of workshops is supported by an external funder, which means we can properly pay our facilitating artists irrespective of ticket sales. As a charity we ask for a small donation to support our other activities.

Are there free spaces available?

Yes! If you need a free ticket, please get in touch, and if there are still places available we will provide one no questions asked. We're aware that even a small donation is a barrier to some, and we'd much rather have you able to attend :)

Organized by

SCRUM is a charity committed to making theatre more equitable and accessible for the next generation of makers and audiences, by prioritising the conditions for artists to make their best work. We are democratically organised, as a non-hierarchical collective of artists from multiple disciplines. We are currently transforming an empty commercial space in Hammersmith into a hub for theatre training, production development, and live performances.
