What goes on during this event?

Together we can discuss updates on Palestine, Sudan, Congo & other countries currently affected by Western imperial violance.

Co-create & body double while listening to one another, you are welcome to draw, fidget, etc

There will be a general structure to the group, but not one so ridged that it takes away from the natural flow of the group

The group will close with a form of meditation, poem, reflection, etc. Anything that can help us transition from the group back and to our evenings

Privacy & Accessibility:

The group's calls, will be held through Zoom. (Though I hope to move to an end-to-end encrypted video conferencing server in the near future.) 12 people will be the maximum amount of people per group, to give everyone the space & time to talk. Closed captioning & live transcription will be avalible to use.

When & where?

These groups will be held online every Tuesday starting at 6:30MST.

Yes!

Why dose this event start so late?

Unfortunately it starts quite late for those on the east coast of the US. But this late start time allows for those on the west coast to join, in the case that folks are getting out of work at 6:00pm.

Why is this event so long?

Given that people are getting off of work, appointments & other obligations. The current time set is to allow a 5-10min buffer, for those joining a few mins late. As well as, to give enough time at the end to meditate, ground & wind down to help transition into our evenings.

I am not in a space where I can turn on my camera, can I still join?

Yes, if you need to dial in you are absolutely welcome to! Turning on your camera in general is not a requirement. The same goes for your microphone. If you want to just sit & listen, you are by all means welcome too. The space is here to support you however it can.

I can't stay for the whole time, can I still sign up?

Yes, you are still welcome to join, just let the group know how long you are able to stay either through email at afterhourscc@proton.me. Or once you enter the zoom call!

After Hours: Consciousness Collective is a space for women, fems & non-binary folks to come together and talk, grieve, share, & question the world around us. The consistent message delivered by revolutionary activists is the importance of a space for people to talk & learn from each other, commonly known as "Consciousness Raising". This group will serve as a space for anyone at any stage of their life who wants to connect to like-minded folks. Though the "After Hours" part of this group is tailored towards those working shifts that exclude them from being able to participate in other events. Such as protests, mid-day sign-making, or even weekend events. The hope is for this space to be as accessible to as many of those who are interested & who are looking for a political home. (A term in that refers to a space where you are surrounded by folks who share similar political thoughts & leanings as you)
