About this event

  • 8 hours

Build the state academic standards into your curriculum with a visit to the mountains. Looking closely at the Colorado life zones from the Plains to the Alpine life zone (5,000’ -14,000’) we see the equivalent of traveling 2,000+ miles north in latitude. Geography, Writing/Communication, Health/PE, Math, and Science teachers can find several fascinating connections to their observations at different elevations. Create your connection to state standards and enjoy a day in the Colorado mountains!

Who: Grade-school teachers, home school educators, and instructional coaches. This is a Level II course. Expect short-distance walks throughout the day, primarily on level terrain.

When: Tuesday, June 18, from 8:00am - 4:00pm

Where: Meet at the Fall River Visitor Center, 3450 Fall River Road, Estes Park, CO and travel together into Rocky Mountain National Park
