Thirty years is an exceptionally long time for an all-volunteer organization to persist and thrive, so we are celebrating in style! Please join us on June 22nd, from 7 to 11 pm at The Venue (21 N Market St, Asheville, NC 28801) for a gala befitting this organization's strengths, spirit, energy, passion, and heart. The evening will include a reception and cocktail hour; a seated dinner; a brief program; dessert; and live entertainment and conversation.
What we are celebrating:
For the past three decades, Building Bridges has invited community members into open conversations and opened their hearts to explore the impact of structural and systemic racism in a meaningful way to mobilize Asheville to dismantle racism, one conversation at a time.
The Asheville you know today has been greatly shaped by our work. Over 2700 people of multiracial backgrounds have participated in 63 sessions of our 9-week workshop series and brought their learning back into the community. Our program results in community members of all races who are better educated about racial inequity and white folks who are more focused on using their privilege to benefit people who are Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. Building Bridges' impact reaches far and wide across our region and influences people to get deep and meaningful about enacting racial equity in many places of entrenched inequity.
