EFNMS - European Federation of National Maintenance SocietiesThe EFNMS was established in 1970. It is recognised as the leading European network for knowledge and experience in maintenance and physical asset management. That means that EFNMS has competencies in Maintenance but also in Physical Asset Management which includes Design, Configuration, Operation, Continuous Improvement and Disposal.The EFNMS activity- Co-ordinate maintenance matters between European National Maintenance Societies and establish contacts with  Maintenance Societies outside of Europe- Study and introduce good maintenance management and promote and initiate maintenance techniques and processes- Promote the awarding of prizes and distinctions relating to maintenance- Provide direction in the development of maintenance- Initiate and promote the publication of the results of scientific and practical work in the maintenance field- Draft maintenance guidelines- Organize bi-annual international conferences and conventions about maintenance- Represent “maintenance”, as developed and implemented in Europe, and support it in contacts with official national, supra national, and international institutions.

<H2 CLASS="Default">Brief introduction to training </H2>
Confined Spaces are areas not designed for regular work that are usually designed with only one entrance/ exit and are usually isolated; confined spaces are sometimes characterized by hazardous (usually non-breathable, asphyxiating) environmental conditions where a permit to work is a requirement while other types do not. Permit Required Confined Spaces (PRCS) include pits, tanks, ducts, manholes etc. Maintenance personnel are the only specialty that is often called to perform work in such an area. This training provides the basic knowledge in conducting safe maintenance works in the PRCS’s hazardous environments as well as providing the necessary rescue operations in case of emergency.

The course is addressed to the managerial, supervisory as well as technical personnel that are involved in maintenance works whether they directly execute or simply supervise PRCS works. It is also addressed to Safety Professionals (Engineers, Auditors, Consultants, Trainers) and members of the Health & Safety Committees.

<H2>Trainer CV </H2>
Dr George Scroubelos is a Mechanical Engineer with MSc in Aerospace Engineering and PhD on Risk Assessment; he has served as an adjunct professor of Ergonomics at Piraeus University during the academic periods 2006-2015. He is currently General Manager of a group of consulting companies in Greece and Cyprus, MB member of the Hellenic Maintenance Society as well as Chairman of the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies’ (EFNMS) OH&S Committee. He has worked in industrial plants in heavy industry as well as in underground mining as a Mechanical Engineer in charge of maintenance as well as health, safety & environmental protection a field in which he has extensive experience since 1987. He is an approved health, safety & environmental consultant and trainer in both Greece and Cyprus.   He is currently heading a team of health & safety experts that provide consulting to mainly big multinational companies on health, safety, environmental and crisis management issues.
