Frequently asked questions

Who will be facilitating the event?

Full time faculty in Art and English will be facilitating each workshop with the help of a few current students that are majoring/minoring in art, writing, or both!

Can parents/guarrdians come to the event?

We would love for families to join us on campus, but the workshops and the lunch will be closed to just the high-school attendees. Parents and guardians are welcome to spend the day at Turtle Rock or nearby, and all are invited to the Closing Remarks, which will take place at 4:00pm!

Can the attendee be a recent high school graduate?

Yes! If the attendee graduated in Spring of 2024, they are welcome to this event.

Can I bring my own art supplies?

If you have a favorite brush or medium, we're happy for you to bring your preferred tools! However, all art/writing supplies will be provided, so you are also welcome to come empty handed. For more information about the art supplies we will have available, please reach out to sara.fletcher@cui.edu.

Does the attendee need to submit either art or writing to be accepted into their desired workshops?

No! We welcome all abilities and experience, and are excited to work with all artists that attend! After completing registration, you will receive a link where the attendee can select their workshop preferences.

How much experience or training should the attendee have for this workshop?

While we welcome all skill and experience levels, high school artists will gain the most from these workshops if they have completed at least introductory painting or writing classes. Expertise is not required, but enthusiasm is a must!
