For more than four decades, CONCORA has enriched the Greater Hartford area with concerts of beautiful choral music presented by its professional singers. CONCORA - Connecticut Choral Artists

This new work by composer Craig Hella Johnson – the conductor of Conspirare, one of the country’s leading professional choirs – has taken the choral world by storm since its 2016 premiere. The oratorio recounts the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming. Johnson weaves together a vast range of musical styles to reflect the universality of this story.  CONCORA will be joined by the UCONN Chamber Singers to mark the twentieth anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death.  This encore performance will be conducted by Jamie Spillane, with Chris Shepard at the piano.
