Concealed Carry Basics

In today's world we can not take anything for granted. Our local municipalities are starving for funds and are under-staffed. We have to be responsible for our own protection, well-being and self-defense. In a life changing encounter that can last a few seconds help is at minimal, minutes away. The decision isn't taken lightly and you have decided that the time to pursue your freedoms is now. Luckily you are not alone. If you want to get a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CCW) then this course is for you. Upon completing this course, you will get the certificate that is required to apply for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License.

-What is a CPL

-Firearm Safety, Safe Storage Considerations, Protecting firearms from unauthorized access

-Ammo types, how they work, proper selection for practice and defense

-Selecting a firearm for concealed carry that is right for you

-Situational awareness, avoiding conflict, controlling encounters

-Human Violence, physical and psychological effects of life threatening encounters

-Michigan legal considerations, the use of force, the use of lethal force

- The aftermath of self defense encounters

- Human decision making processes, developing a winning mindset

- Michigan firearm laws

- Performance Shooting Fundamentals

- Performance shooting cycle and how it fits in with decision making processes

- Defensive accuracy and threat stopping hit locations

- Concealment gear selections, how to clear concealment, carry locations

- And much more.

Each student will be required to bring the following items to class

-50 rounds of ammo for your handgun (loaner guns are 9mm)

- Eye and ear protection for range use (range may have some)

- Pen and paper for notes

- Handgun (no 22lr please)

- 2 magazines for your handgun

- Food, drinks and snacks to get through the day

Class cost is $150. Students must purchase tickets prior to course. No walk ons. Refunds issued only in the event of cancellation.

Students must bring a $25 cash range use fee the morning of class.
